Ab Butler’s Dogtrot at Triple Creek is an authentic log cabin used as a romantic Fredericksburg, TX bed and breakfast in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Offering a quiet, secluded respite, the historic cabin, built in 1800, is situated on acreage populated with live oaks, deer and a running creek, yet is a five-minute journey into Fredericksburg, TX. Having appeared in two national magazines, the 200-year-old cabin offers antiques, designer fabrics, and a romantic atmosphere to its bed and breakfast guests. 

The historic log cabin is referred to as a dogtrot because it has two units (suites) with a porch in between. Each suite has a downstairs living room with a wood-burning fireplace, an upstairs bedroom with a king-size bed, a private bath with a regular-size Jacuzzi tub, and a front porch perfect for bird watching, viewing the deer, relaxing or enjoying a good book. Nighttimes at Ab Butler’s cabin offer a perfect sky for stargazing from the porch or the hammock. Our guests often enjoy sunsets down at the creek in a porch swing.

Ab Butler’s Dogtrot inn has been inspected and given an Outstanding Quality Certification by Historic Accommodations of Texas for the nine consecutive years of its existence as a bed and breakfast.
